PEARLS MELBA IS A SMALL COMPANY BASED IN MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, that has, for the past five years, been operated by me, Julianne Richards.
My interest in pearls has led me on an exciting quest for knowledge from Australia to Tahiti, Bali and Hong Kong and has caused me to meet so many helpful and wonderful people along the way.
I have been privileged to visit working pearl farms in remote French Polynesia and Bali where I witnessed all aspects of perliculture, from the seeding of young oysters and the harvesting of beautiful pearls, right through to the dealings of the sales offices in Papeete and Denpasar. Another great experience has been attendance at the jewellery fair in Hong Kong where the world meets to trade pearls, gems and everything to do with jewellery.

Plans for the future
FROM OCTOBER 13TH, 2011, I WILL BE EMPLOYED BY MICHAEL HILL JEWELLER. This opens up a new and exciting career path for me where I will consolidate and expand my knowledge of all aspects of jewellery, especially in the retail area.
I am looking forward to learning more about diamonds and bringing smiles to many faces as they purchase some very important pieces of jewellery.
